Wednesday, July 10th we will meet at Veteran’s Acres parking lot on Walkup, at 9:00 a.m. We will carpool to the Japanese Tea Garden located in the Fabyen West Forest Preserve, 1925 S. Batavia Ave/Route 31 Geneva, Il. The Garden is approximately 200 yards from the parking lot. Bring sack lunch and drink. Our private tour starts at 11:00 a.m.

Wednesday August 14 2024 at 11:30 we will meet at the Prairieview Education Center 2112 Behan Road Crystal Lake to make paper with prairie flowers.
Bring a sack lunch . Business meeting will follow program.

At The Community Foundation for McHenry County . Presentation will be on succulents by Heather Moister , horticulturist at Soil and Spade . .

Wednesday October 9 2024 we will meet at Countryside Garden Shop in Crystal Lake. Lunch will be at home. We will have a social hour from 12 noon to check out shops and greenhouses. Floral designer will demonstrate at 1:00 pm how to make floral arrangements. Arrangements will be raffled off.

Speaker : Peter Waldmann • General Manager. Peter Waldmann’s career started in the 1980’s, working for one of the first health food retail chains in the nation, Mrs. Gooch’s. Since that time, he has enjoyed over 30 years of professional experience in the Natural Foods industry. Peter worked for several well-known retailers including; Whole Foods Market, Wild Oats Markets, Green’s Natural Foods and most recently PCC Community Markets. During his tenures he held numerous positions, ranging from bagger to Chief Executive Officer. To date, he has opened over 20 retail grocery locations in 15 different states

Program will be held at The Colonel Palmer House in Crystal Lake .

April 3 2025 District 1 Spring Meeting Hosted by the Countryside Garden Club. Location : The Crystal Lake Country Club. Open to District 1 garden club members only.
Speaker: Cindy Crosby. Cindy graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2014 with her master’s degree in natural resources, with a focus on environmental interpretation. She is a Master Gardener and teaches in the Master Naturalist program. For more than a decade as a prairie steward and volunteer, Cindy helped manage and coordinate the work of other volunteers on the fourth oldest restored prairie in North America
